Six-Fours-Les-Plages

The National Maritime Museum of Toulon traces the history of the Toulon arsenal. In addition to grandiose canvases, one can admire an exceptional collection of ship models, as well as a galley model.

The Museum of Asian Arts in Toulon has been set up in Villa Jules Verne, which was occupied by the son and grandson of Jules Verne. The museum presents collections acquired in China, Japan, Tibet, Mongolia and India by French collectors, often Toulon sailors, and who were bequeathed to the City of Toulon. Temporary exhibitions are also presented on the ground floor. Entrance is free.

The Var Departmental Museum , a natural history museum entirely devoted to the enhancement of the department's biological and naturalist heritage: fauna, flora, geology, prehistory ...His visit can be conceived as a naturalist walk through the department, approaching all the disciplines that make up the natural sciences. The visit as well as the activities which are proposed there are entirely supported financially by the Department of Var.

The Granet Museum in Aix-en-Provence is a very pretty museum, rich in exceptional works of art. Do not miss the retrospective of Fabienne Verdier, "on the lands of Cézanne" and the Chapel of the Penitents admirably transformed. I highly recommend it !

The Vendôme Pavilion Museum is a magnificent pavilion built between 1665 and 1667 by Louis de Mercoeur Duke of Vendôme to house his passionate love affairs with Lucrèce de Forbin Solliès, known as "la Belle du Canet". The architecture of the building is remarkable with its Italian inspiration: symmetry of the building, sculptures and respect for the three architectural orders: Doric, Ionic and Corinthian.This elegant pavilion is surrounded by a beautiful French garden that invites calm and relaxation.
